Block Sandals

Hello! I’m sure you are excited that it’s Monday. I am because that means I am one day closer to salsa class. Anyways, today it is all about the block heel sandals. 

My SJP Collection block sandals purchase inspired me to buy my Steve Madden Estoria  sandals.

I tried wearing my sandals on Saturday but the weather was ugly all day. Gloomy with a light drizzle that would not stop making it a tad too cold for sandals. Before stepping out the door I had to switch my sandals to sneakers. I was glad the weather on Sunday was not like Saturday and that I was actually able to wear my sandals as I headed out to lunch with my friends.

Caption Nail Polish

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!!! 

Now on to nails. I am finally sharing my Young Nails Caption Polish experience. The color I used was Zigged when I shoulda Zagged, a bright magenta purple as described in Young Nails website, which was included in the coversion kit I purchased. At this time I don’t have many nice things to say about this polish other than I really liked the color. 

The drying time in this polish took too long. I first followed the instructions printed on the box and let my nails air dry for 4 minutes. My nails did not dry and I ruined my polish when applying the top coat. Since I had time to redo my nails I decided to give it another try. My second attempt was another fail even though I let my nails dry  lover. Third time wasn’t so great either and at this time I let them dry for 10 minutes. I walked out the poor with a poor looking manicure. 

Since I wasn’t happy with my nails I decided to remove the polish and redo my nails. I figured I didn’t use the polish properly. This time I made sure I used a thin coat of polish but still letting it air dry longer. 

Day 2 – I couldn’t believe I had tip wear! Minimal wear but some nonetheless. This polish is suppose to wear longer because of the gel base and top coat. 

Day 3- Lifted polish on my right.  

Day 4- Lifting on left hand started.

Day 5- More chipping and visible tip wear.

Since I didn’t get the wear I was expecting I will not be buying any additional polished from this brand for now.  I am thinking of trying it again because I might have not used it properly. It may also be that the polish just doesn’t live up to the claims but I’ll have to try it once more before I cast it out entirely.

Two of…

Two of everything please. I noticed I have too many two of the same shoes, shirts and dresses in my closet. I’m sure that happens to most of us when we like something. We like a shoe and we end up getting the shoe in two different colors. 

First two of are my MK slip-ons. I purchased the black last year sometime in spring. I was going to buy these in the khaki color but my size was sold out so I went with the black. I have worn these a lot and when the white were available this year I got my hands on them as well.

Another two of in my closet are my crochet Toms. I purchased the black during a BOGO. Since I have enjoyed my shoes I wanted a second pair for our Cancun vacation last year and I was lucky to find these yellow ones on clearance last year.

Express has been my go to place for tops. I have a couple of the portofino blouses for work and I love them. They are available in many different colors and as the seasons change so do the designs. These are just a couple.

All the tops pictured above were paired off with a SJP Collection heel and all the above are a two of… and in some cases even four of. I just love this collection and I kept buying and adding as the sales go on.  My repeat offenders are the Carrie, Fawn and Lady pumps.

When summer hits LA the dresses come out. I will go anywhere for a dress that are under $30; TJ Maxx, Old Navy and H&M. I first bought the green floral dress and I really liked the colors and design that I went back to buy the purple.

Shine On

We all need a little sparkle in our lives. The sparkle in our eyes when we look at our significant other or the sparkle in our shoes. Yes shoes! I have many colored shoes and thought I needed to add something different to my collection and I sure did with my Ursula SJP Collection heels. I had previously shared this shoe in my New Year New Shoes post when I first bought them. I finally wore them last night with a black dress to a concert and got many compliments.   

   
I really didn’t take a pic of the dress but I got the dress on sale from Express. The shoes were purchased on sale from Bloomingdales and have since sold out there but they are available on sale at 6pm. You can also check out other SJP shoes on sale at Bloomies.

Date Night

Since I’m catching up and I haven’t posted my outfits in over a week here is another one that a captured from two weeks ago.
I needed an outfit that took me from day to night as we had plans to attend a local concert of a band my husband and I listened to when we were growing up. I wear black trousers all the time and this day was no exception. I wore my black and white window pane top and added color to my lips and my shoes. I got this pair on sale at Nordstrom Rack but they are now available on sale at 6pm.

Here are clips of Los Tigres Del Norte. They are an older band so they don’t sound the same as when they were young but it was fun watching them as it brought back so many memories of my childhood. The last time they were in town we were in Cancun so we weren’t able to go. My husband had been wanting to go see them for a while and being surprised with tickets that same day got me some wifey points!
