Taupe-Less Mani

I guess I did workout if I take my Sunday morning hike into consideration. Here is the beautiful view of the valley from the hike.

After the hike my friends and I got a little hungry so we headed out for breakfast. Cappuccino please… I regained the calories I burned on the hike just by taking one bite of my breakfast sandwich.
A hike, breakfast then some nail polish shopping! Great day with the girls I would say. I was in search for Mauvy-Mauve from Gelish and ended picking up Taupe-Less gel color from OPI. Couldn’t wait to try out the color so I did my mani adding an accent white nail with stones. I am in love with the color.

Sat in SJP

Casual wear for a kiddos bday party. Black jeans, Express floral shirt, Gap denim top and my SJP Gina heels for a slight rocker look.

I am very happy with this pair as it was the first time wearing them. Not being broken in before, I was able to dance in my them for a long time without them hurting my feet.

I got these heels at Nordstrom Rack on sale for only $119.98 from an original price tag of $455, what a steal! They are currently available in black and on sale at Neiman Marcus for $318. The color purple is also available for the regular tag at Zappos

Need to get going

Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend celebrating with friends and family remembering the brave soldiers who put their lives in harm’s way to give our nation freedom.

******

I need more than self-motivation. I need someone keeping track of my food and taking away those little mini chocolates from my sight. I started last Monday and did well with my food intake and workout. I know it’s going to take long before I can have a clean eating habit but then again who wouldn’t have a couple chips once in a while. Well I couldn’t stay away from them and had a handful. I figured I can’t suppress ALL my cravings, as long as I don’t eat the entire bag of chips I can slowly wing off. I mean it takes more than one day to stop smoking right? RIGHT

Other than a couple chips and a mini snickers chocolate, I’ve kept my eating to healthier choices. Well until the long weekend came with a family party and BBQ for Memorial Day. Then waking up today with no lunch to take to work and no grocery shopping over the weekend the healthy choices quickly diminished. Then to top it off gym was out of the question after not feeling well, a nap during lunch became my agenda.

I hope tomorrow is a better day and the rest of the week goes well.

New Journey

Today I start a new journey. As much as I hate to admit I let myself go, to the point of gaining so much weight that I am at my heaviest. Getting into a fitness plan has been a challenge, either feeling low or just tired from the daily work routine, and eating healthy well that has never been my strong point.

I decided to make a change in my eating habits and start working out 30 minutes on a daily basis. I started to think what happened to the girl who did 12 miles a day? She got a boyfriend. What happened to the girl who did Zumba classes and kickboxing along with hiking once a week? She got married. It’s hard to get my husband to join me on any fitness activities. I run too slow for him, he doesn’t like dancing and at the end of the day he doesn’t need to lose weight because he is naturally thin. Well I said enough about him and encouraged myself to work on me. We are our biggest critics but we have to learn be our own cheerleaders as well.
I know this journey will not be easy and I will face many challenges such as chips, chili cheese fries as well as Dodger dogs but I know I must limit myself and not intake only foods that appeal but also feed my body the veggies and fruits it needs to be healthy. Those of you who have put their health on hold I encourage you to start your own journey.
I’ll be tracking my results and will share my accomplishments. Wish me luck!
