Today I start a new journey. As much as I hate to admit I let myself go, to the point of gaining so much weight that I am at my heaviest. Getting into a fitness plan has been a challenge, either feeling low or just tired from the daily work routine, and eating healthy well that has never been my strong point.
I decided to make a change in my eating habits and start working out 30 minutes on a daily basis. I started to think what happened to the girl who did 12 miles a day? She got a boyfriend. What happened to the girl who did Zumba classes and kickboxing along with hiking once a week? She got married. It’s hard to get my husband to join me on any fitness activities. I run too slow for him, he doesn’t like dancing and at the end of the day he doesn’t need to lose weight because he is naturally thin. Well I said enough about him and encouraged myself to work on me. We are our biggest critics but we have to learn be our own cheerleaders as well.
I know this journey will not be easy and I will face many challenges such as chips, chili cheese fries as well as Dodger dogs but I know I must limit myself and not intake only foods that appeal but also feed my body the veggies and fruits it needs to be healthy. Those of you who have put their health on hold I encourage you to start your own journey.
I’ll be tracking my results and will share my accomplishments. Wish me luck!
